EL KOWN raced near the rear of the field through the early stages, was asked to go after passing the seven-sixteenths marker but did not quicken immediately, was put to more serious pressure late on the turn, came five wide into the stretch and produced a grinding rally, steadily gained on the leaders through deep stretch and was up in time. ELODINE got good position going into the first turn but ceded the lead to LEMON BOMB, tracked that rival in close attendance to the far turn, responded when that foe tried to quicken away in the stretch, had to alter course in mid-stretch when LEMON BOMB came out, was finishing well but outkicked by the winner in the final yards. LEMON BOMB was able to seize the lead on the clubhouse turn, led the field down the backstretch under a good hold, responded when asked to quicken approaching the quarter pole, drifted out under right handed urging in the stretch, weakened and was outfinished. MEMPHIS CASH QUEEN was close up three wide through the first turn, settled in a tracking spot down the backstretch under light restraint, was set down with about three furlongs to run, took an inside path into the stretch but flattened out and was not involved in the outcome. BEADS raced four wide down the backstretch, went three wide through the far turn, launched a mild bid near the five-sixteenths pole then went one paced lacking a closing punch. LITTLE DIXIE bobbled slightly leaving the gate, was not rushed and settled at the rear of the pack through the first turn, struggled to catch up with the field but managed to finish ahead of one late near the wire. DESSERT FIRST raced in the middle of the pack well off the pace, started to weaken midway on the far turn and had little to offer in the stretch.
