Chart notes
CHEZ WHIZ was unhurried early, started to run on from the three-furlong pole, got a clean trip in the two path through the turn then came out four to five wide and passed them all in the stretch despite racing on the left lead. SHAGGY EDGE was between horses contesting the early pace, was lapped on DICEY WAGER with LITTLE RANDY to the outside, went as a team from the five-sixteenths into the stretch, staged a furious battle down the late, gained a short lead but was passed in the final yards by the winner. DICEY WAGER broke best and was first to the lead, had a pair of rivals pressing the issue just to the outside heading into the turn, dug in when those two ramped up the pressure from the five-sixteenths marker, continued to battle through the stretch then gave way grudgingly inside the sixteenth pole. PATRIOTIC DUTY tracked close up to the inside with the second flight, kept to the inside and ran on under handling but was not quite good enough. MAJOR GRIFFIN raced between horses in the second flight, put forth an even effort, was under handling late but could not threaten. LITTLE RANDY broke with the pack, vied three wide for the lead early and through the turn, was still in the mix in upper stretch then weakened in the final furlong. PRINCE OTTO tracked three wide, came under pressure at the five-sixteenths marker and outrun in the stretch. JEST FUNNY lacked any early speed, chased well off the pace, saved ground and was able to maintain position late but unable to improve. This race was originally hand timed and was re-timed using video technology to arrive at the most accurate final time.
