GUN BARREL CITY was taken in hand early, saved ground on the first turn, was well placed just off the pace, moved off the inside before the five-sixteenths pole then shifted to the three path late on the far turn, was roused in the four path at the quarter-pole then chased outside under a drive, moved out into the final furlong, gained the lead near the sixteenth-pole and prevailed under good handling. A BOURBON FOR TOBY was taken in hand early, raced in the two path on the first turn, tracked the pace on the outside, went around the far turn in the three then four path, made a bid outside the quarter-pole, took a short lead into upper stretch, led under a drive into the final furlong, drifted out outside the sixteenth-pole and was overtaken while able to get the place. MAYOR OF MIDNIGHT (IRE) moved in while taken in hand, settled on the inside, moved out while put to a drive in upper stretch and finished willingly for the show. DE LA CRUZ prompted the pace on the outside in the two to three path, was asked near the five-sixteenths pole, chased under a drive into the final furlong and weakened. VAN GINKEL went to the front, showed the way on the inside of a rival while inside to the two path, was given his cue near the five-sixteenths pole, lost the advantage into upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and also weakened. ROYAL'S PRIDE (GB) broke a step slow, raced in the two path on the first turn, settled outside near the back, was urged along before the half-mile pole, went around the far turn in the four path, shifted to the six path around the three-sixteenths pole and improved position. WONDERFINN went around most of the first turn in the three path then dropped to the two path, settled between horses, was asked in the two path while still between horses on the far turn, turned into upper stretch under a drive and lacked the needed response. TIZ FERVOR went around the first turn in the two path, was reserved towards the back, traveled around the far turn in the two path, was roused outside the quarter-pole and failed to rally. THE HERO CODE tossed his head badly while very rank through the first turn, raced in the four path on that bend, was reserved outside on the backstretch, went around the far turn in the three then four path while let out, spun into the stretch in the five path and came up empty. ADVENTURIST saved ground on the first turn, settled near the rear while off the inside, dropped from the three path to the two path on the far turn and was no factor.
