Chart notes
SOCIETY'S THUNDER stalked in behind off the rail, moved out a bit and advanced between foes four wide past the quarter pole, struck the lead near mid-stretch while drifting in and bothering rivals, dueled with the inside foe and edged past. CRUMLIN LAD vied inside from the early stages, contested the lead with first one then a second then a third rival up the backstretch, on the turn and in the home straight, respectively, dueled late and fought on gamely. AWESOME BOURBON exchanged a light brush at the start, angled in past the gap and moved forward, tracked inside, sought room in behind runners coming into upper stretch, moved nearer attempting to split rivals nearing the eighth pole but was placed in tight quarters and steadied slightly, altered out four deep thereafter, was gaining outside but too late. NO MORE OPTIONS settled at the back near the inside, shifted six wide and ran on evenly. MASON'S GAMBLE settled outside at the rear, shifted eight wide by upper stretch, needed more to threaten. JUNIOR HOT SHOT got away well but was soon outpaced and content to stalk from outside, made a rapid early move near the half, challenged for the lead leaving the backstretch going three to four wide on the turn, contended till upper stretch, checked sharply near the eighth pole as a rival came in, failed to threaten thereafter. BOSTON TEA PARTY exchanged minor contact at the start, briefly had an early lead before being relegated back to a stalking position, went three to five wide on the turn, floated seven wide into upper stretch, was not a late threat. ARABIAN PRINCE was coaxed forward from the start to force the pace, vied between runners while beginning to weaken on the turn, came up empty. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS' INQUIRY AS WELL AS AN OBJECTION BY THE RIDER OF AWESOME BOURBON AGAINST SOCIETY'S THUNDER, THE LATTER WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM FIRST AND PLACED SIXTH BEHIND JUNIOR HOT SHOT FOR INTERFERING WITH THAT ONE.
