Chart notes
MARSAC set the pace on a well measured lead through moderate fractions, repelled all challengers gamely in the lane and held the advantage to the wire in a well handled ride. TONY SMALL prompted the pace throughout, rallied turning for home to threaten the winner and failed to get passed while finishing willingly to hold the place. VAN reserved off the pace to be near the rear of the compact field, lost position on the turn and rallied well belatedly splitting rivals to be gaining late. ZERO GRAVITY stalked the pace the entire way to be well positioned, loomed prominently in mid-stretch and finished evenly. TRIPLE START trailed for the first five-eighths rallied turning for home to be in the charge and flattened out late. SPETTACOLI (ARG) raced up to contention down the backside, remained prominently placed through the final bend and was unable to sustain the bid in the lane.
