Chart notes
STRIKE RIDGE hustled up out of the gate, took the lead and angled inside heading into the first turn, widened to a clear advantage still in hand, continued to open up under a slight hold while setting swift fractions through the backstretch, remained the commanding leader still unasked around the far turn, saved ground turning for home, shook the reins near the eighth pole and remained clear, sharp effort. GATLINBURG raced four paths wide entering the first turn, rated off the clear pacesetter up the backstretch, picked up the pace entering the far turn, swung four wide into the upper stretch, sustained bid and finished second best. CLOUDY HOLIDAY raced in close contention around the first turn, stalked the clear leader up the backstretch, coaxed two to three wide turning for home, ran on with response and cleared the rest. SEVEN FLAT raced in the back, was ridden along four wide leaving the backstretch, kept along the outside entering the lane and never menaced. MR. SWEETS was forwardly placed around the first turn, continued to be the closest pursuer of the clear leader up the backstretch, failed to progress when called upon around the far turn and steadily retreated. ICE AGAIN raced near the back, saved ground throughout and had no response when asked.
