Chart notes
COFFEE CALIENTE got away well but ceded the lead taken in hand stalking in behind and saving ground, moved out late on the far turn, was four to five wide coming into upper stretch under urging and with momentum, struck the lead in late stretch and edged clear. IT'S BOBS BUSINESS was in just a bit tight after the start, was keen and pulling against restraint on the first turn and early up the backstretch racing about three wide, moved willingly on the far turn to take the lead at the quarter pole, was no match for the winner but saved the place. BAYOU BENNY shifted in early settling at the back inside a rival near but off the fence, made a steadily early advance between foes leaving the backstretch early on the far turn, could not keep pace at that juncture dropping back off the leaders, shifted out six wide turning into upper stretch, kept on late to regain position. THE BLACK STRAT was urged from the break, soon made the lead and moved clear, set the pace near the inside, faded in mid- to late-stretch. CLIFF DIVER was caught outside foes three to four wide early through the first turn, continued to pursue off the leaders from outside up the backstretch, was under strong urging by the five-sixteenths racing four to five deep but failed tor ally. WODETON (FR) moved out on the first turn to the three to four path, stalked mid-pack, dropped back and failed to rally. MACH TWO broke a step slowly and lacked early speed racing outside a foe at the back two to three wide early, trailed into the far turn shifting nearer the inside saving ground on that bend, was not a factor.
