GUADALAJARA had good early speed from the break but ceded the front end, rated nicely on the rail for the first half-mile, crept closer heading into the far turn, then bided time through that turn, responded when sent up the rail at the top of the stretch too a short lead, drifted out mid-stretch under urging but held sway under a drive to the finish line. DRAMA KING raced close up between horses to the far turn, was blocked from late on the far turn to upper stretch, got a fortunate opening along the rail in mid-stretch, battled gamely in the final yards but could not pass the winner. BISHOP CREEK tracked three-wide behind the lone pacesetter, moved up to challenge for the lead approaching the quarter pole, was finishing well when lighlly bumped twice by FALCON QUEST in the final furlong and came up short in the end. FALCON QUEST tracked just behind the stalking trio well off the rail, bid four wide into the stretch, lugged in, and could not find the winning kick. NOBLE REIGN reserved from the break and raced at the rear of the main pack to the far turn, launched a mild three-wide bid on the far turn and finished up with some energy under urging but was never a serious threat. TRUE RICARDO chased three-wide early, was under pressure and struggling to keep pace before the half-mile pole, found another gear on the far turn and produced a grinding finish under steady handling. KOCHAN was keen from the start and pulled to the lead on the first turn, tried to quicken away after passing the half, was surrounded by challengers at the quarter pole, gave way readily and finished evenly through the late stages. KING OF THE DISCO was void of speed from the break, dropped over to the rail when clear, was the distant trailer to the far turn, the rallied late up the rail to improve well after the issue had been decided up front. COAL STONE stalked the pace three wide for the first half mile, then had no response when asked to go on before the far turn and had nothing to offer late.
