BIG TIME CHARLIE broke well, went to the front quickly, was joined by FLASHOUT, then dueled outside of that rival through the turn, always traveling well at that point, gained the upper hand at the top of the stretch, then widened the margin in the late stages and won as much the best. FLASHOUT was sent hard from the break and together with BIG TIME CHARLIE went several lengths clear of the rest, dueled through rapid splits, steadied slightly at the top of the stretch but was no match for that rival late and checked in second, well clear of the next finisher. SHE'S A COWGIRL chased the frontrunners from between horses, finished best of the rest of the field to gain the third spot. CINCO BLAKE outpaced through the early stages, kept trying through the stretch and improved. CANDY THIEF was well back with the trailing group through the early stages, ran on some late and managed to split the field. SPEAK IT unable to keep up through the early stages, then lacked a rally. CHIEF BROWN was off slowly, and with the stragglers in the early running, lugged in through the stretch and never threatened. PREACHERMAN broke inward at the start, chased inside with the second flight and tired in the stretch. SIR ARCHIBOLD dropped off the pace before going a quarter mile and was never a factor. THE JOCKEY ON #2 FLASHOUT LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #8 BIG TIME CHARLIE ALLEGING INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH. AFTER A BRIEF REVIEW, THE OBJECTION WAS DISALLOWED AND THE ORIGINAL FINISH WAS MADE OFFICIAL.
