HOLIDAY CHEER hustled from the start to grab the early advantage, had DEBBIES PASSAGE a constant presence to the outside, cut the corner into the stretch and put a length on the field, opened up and held sway to the finish. LIAM'S MIST settled between horses in the trailing group, was not making much progress through the turn, then swung four wide into the stretch, responded to strong handling and urging, found best stride late and surged to gain the place. SWEET MORGAN LEIGH raced four wide in last place down the backstretch, swept into contention five wide into the stretch, and finished up well under steady handling only to be outfinished for second. DEBBIES PASSAGE pressed the early pace four wide, dueled with HOLIDAY CHEER through the turn, pulled even at the quarter pole, tried valiantly to come back when that one kicked away in upper stretch but weakened in the final yards. ONE LINE RULER was the inside horse in the early pace scramble, backed off midway on the turn, then came back on approaching the quarter pole, loomed a threat in upper stretch, then flattened out. LADY CHERYL'S SONG was inside with the trailing group through the initial running, then bid three wide from the five-sixteenths pole on the turn and finished with some interest but lacked a closing kick. GOOD N SASSY broke through the gate before the start, reloaded, contested the early pace from between horses, backed out before the three-furlong pole, then had little left for the stretch run. SIMONEAUX STORM chased three-deep in the tracking group, saved ground through the turn, but lacked a finish.
