Chart notes
RON'S GIZMO settled on the rail in midfield on the fence early on, stalked between rivals in the third flight down the back straight, was checked losing momentum at the three eighths pole being shuffled back through the last bend, picked up the bit again five wide turning for home having clear run, determinedly burst between horses at the sixteen pole dueling for the lead and won the nod exactly at the finish line for the victory. TOSEN WISH (IRE) was unhurried getting to the rail seeing the field in the beginning, still trailed the group down the backside, commenced a run gathering momentum on the far turn, gathered more speed shifting out widest in the five path at the quarter pole, angled out in the six path full of run in mid-stretch and just missed extending right at the wire losing a tight photo. POSSIBLEMENTE was in tight on the start, recovered to move around horses four wide on the first turn under a snug hold, took over control setting a moderate pace alone down the backside, was encouraged right handed with five sixteenths to go feeling the pressure outside on the last turn, spurted away again in upper stretch trying to steal up top, faded while drifting out at the sixteenth pole and held to settle for the show money in the end. NEVER SURPRISED was nestled on the rail behind the leader in the first turn, rated kindly on the fence in the third flight down the backstretch, inched up on the rail but had to be checked mildly with three eighths still to run, re-engaged on the rail by the quarter pole, was in with a good chance two wide between foes turning for home, was in tight surroundings again but this time was steadied sharply at the sixteenth pole holding for a minor share. MCAVOY broke out on the start, had a good spot watching the lead duo outside on the first turn, tracked the loose leader outside down the backstretch, was scrubbed on for more through the far turn but could not hold position by the quarter pole and flattened out by the furlong marker. SHERLOCK'S JEWEL had a stalking role three wide on the first turn, continued three wide outside foes still close to the back down the back straight, made a brief run circling four wide midpoint of the final bend to be in the thick of things turning for home between runners, was checked in tight coming up to the sixteenth pole and could not recover in time to pose a threat. POWER SEEKER had the early lead just off the fence going into the first turn setting a slow tempo, let the outside rival go ahead into the backstretch content while tracking inside under a snug hold, moved in to press the issue outside at the three eighths marker through the last turn, tried to keep up with runners at the top of the stretch but wilted between foes with a furlong remaining. STEWARDS INQUIRY THROUGH THE STRETCH AND RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL AT THE SIXTEENTH POLE #2 NEVER SURPRISED AGAINST #1 RONS GIZMO AND #8 TOSEN WISH (IRE) RESULTED IN #4 POSSIBLEMENTE BEING DISQUALIFIED AND PLACED FOURTH FOR INTERFERENCE
