Chart notes
WHISPERING SEA slow away from the gate, pulled to contention from four wide entering the backstretch, made a four wide bid on the turn to assume command and finished well to hold sway determinedly. CRYSTAL WATER reserved off the pace for the first half mile, made a steady rally on the far turn, circled six wide at the head of the lane and rallied well on the outside coming up just short as second best. XERCES tracked the pace from five wide down the backside, rallied with an early bid to be prominent approaching the quarter pole and chased the winner through the stretch unable to close the gap. STELLARATOR stalked the pacesetter from between rivals for five-eighths, lost position backing out from between rivals on the bend and came on again with a late gain. WHAT'S GOOD set the pace on a clear lead for a half, dueled on the lead to the quarter pole and weakened in the stretch. ONE SPECIAL ACT tracked the leaders from the rail for a half and steadily faded from contention. REFUGIADA was not a factor.
