Chart notes
ROSIE'S ANGUS unhurried from the back of the pack, raced mid-pack down the backstretch, advanced through the far turn, bid two wide into the stretch, altered course mid-stretch to avoid a drifting rival, and surged clear in the final yards. ISLAND GOLD was last away, lagged at the back through the first half, launched a bid leaving the three furlong pole, came four or five wide into the stretch, finished well behind the winner, and gained the place. CONGRATULERA stalked the leader to the far turn, took command at the quarter pole, came into the stretch with the lead, drifted out, was no match for the winner late, then just failed to hold the place. EMILY'S BULLET was hard held early, then let loose midway down the backstretch, started to run on from the middle of the far turn, then was all over the stretch to find running room, dove to the inside late, and was not able to crack the top three. STAR ANISE stalked close up inside to the far turn, tipped out to the three path for the stretch run, altered course slightly in mid-stretch to avoid a rival, then could not find the winning kick. CLEARLY CREEPS raced close up three wide then lacked a finish. BLUE RIDGE QUEEN coaxed away from the gate, then pulled to the lead through the first turn, led the way down the backstretch under limited pressure, gave way passing the quarter pole, and was not persevered with late.
