Chart notes
LA GIRVINA was well rated setting the pace on well measured lead, responded when called upon leaving the five-sixteenths to kick away unchallenged in the lane. CLARAMENTE stalked the pace to the far turn, lost position on the bend and came on again gamely in the lane to re-claim the place while unable to gain on the winner. LITTLE MARTHA prompted the early pace on the first turn, settled to track the leader, rallied on the far turn to threaten and was outfinished through the lane by the top pair while best of the rest. LA ARTISTA reserved off the pace, dropped to the rear of the field on the far turn and made a good late gain down the stretch. LIZZIE BABY raced mid-pack and failed to mount a bid. SPARKLING RUBY broke in a tangle bumping rival leaving the gate, trailed the field down the backstretch, rallied mildly on the final turn and flattened out coming home. AWESOME EMPRESS failed to menace. URBAN STAR tracked leaders to the far turn to be in contention and faded turning for home.
