Chart notes
SLICK COUNTRY BOY contested the early pace from between horses, then dueled with EYES ON MOONSHINE through the turn, left that rival behind in upper stretch and held safe from a pair of late challengers under steady handling. HE'S A ROCK broke off-balance and was a step or two slow to get going, never far back, moved up through the turn, then waited in traffic behind a wall of horses at the top of the stretch, angled out to the four-path mid-stretch, finished up well, and just got up for the place in the last jump. BIG WAVE JAMES outpaced early despite the best efforts of the rider, found a good stride heading into the turn, then bid four wide at the top of the stretch, finished up well, but could not get to the winner and lost the place at the wire. HAY SCOOBY DOO was last and four wide, though not that far back, continued to race wide through the turn, then went evenly late. EYES ON MOONSHINE broke sharply from the outside, vied three-wide through the turn, put a head in front turning for home, but could not sustain the bid and weakened in the final furlong. STORM MAN contested the pace on the inside, gave way leaving the three-furlong pole, and was outfinished in the stretch. BROADWAY APPEAL was briefly close up, then dropped out of contention heading into the turn and had nothing to offer in the stretch.
