Chart notes
DESTINY'S DARLING stalked WILDCAT DREAM through the early stages before taking command with three furlongs to run, opened up in the stretch under urging and held off a fast-closing rival on the inside to prevail despite drifting out to the middle of the track in the final yards. EMERSON'S DREAM came out of the gate awkwardly and was slow into stride, trailed well behind the field early, then made a furious late bid up the rail but came up short. CANA GRIS tracked two-deep behind the early pace, launched a bid from the five-sixteenths marker but flattened out in upper stretch. WILDCAT DREAM hustled from the break, made the front into the first turn, went a length or two clear down the backstretch with the rider trying his best to temper the pace, gave way readily approaching the quarter pole, then was outfinished in the late stages. LONG BLACK VEIL lacked any early speed and raced near the back of the pack four to five wide with only EMERSON'S DREAM behind, did not respond when asked to pick up the pace on the far turn, and was unable to improve in the late stages. MARKET OF STOCKS settled mid-pack then lacked a rally, finishing one-paced in the stretch.
