Chart notes
SMARTY HARDY was well placed sitting just off the early leaders, let out a notch and advanced to poke a head in front near the quarter pole, angled in a path at the head of the lane, cleared the lead leaving the furlong marker, tapped once right handed and kept to task. EXPRESS KID bumped with rival at the start then took over a slim lead, set a pressured pace up the backstretch, vied for the lead around the turn, fought back along the rail in the upper stretch, was no late match for the eventual winner but ran on gamely to defend place. IT'S ALL RIGHT sat just off the early pace, edged closer around the turn, went to go two wide entering the head of the lane but SPARTY HARDY grabbed the position first, shifted three wide under strong left handed urging, ran on, came in a path and got denied late for place. MISTER J. P. lacked speed and trailed the field, swung four wide into the lane and improved position without threatening the top trio. OLD MONEY was forwardly placed in the opening quarter, weakened around the turn and continued to tire in the drive. CHI TOWN PRINCE prompted the pace up the backstretch, vied around the turn then tired in the drive. Q'S TOPNOTCH raced in range along the rail, lost action entering the turn and dropped back.
