AVANA trailed the field into the stretch the first time while saving ground at the rail, began to advance from along the inside soon after entering the backstretch, rallied smartly from along the rail entering the final turn, tipped three wide in mid stretch and closed with a rush to get up in time. VIVA LA DIVA broke sharply and raced to the lead from along the rail entering the stretch the first time, controlled the pace in the run down the backside, held a clear advantage through the final turn and just failed to last. WIRLY GIRLY away alertly and tracked the leader into the first turn while racing one out from the rail, maintained her position through the second turn and in the run down the backstretch, rallied smartly two wide entering the final turn, and closed determinedly three wide in the drive in a solid effort. AIR FORCE was unprepared at the start, and still in the hands of the assistant starter as the gate opened to get away poorly, moved up through the first turn to assume a stalking trip, dropped back to trail in the run down the backside, and had little to offer late. Following a steward's review into the start of the race, it was deemed that AIR FORCE wasn't afforded a fair start, and was declared a NON STARTER. All wager's on AIR FORCE were refunded.
