Chart notes
WORK HARD was pushed on a bit from the break to get forward position, settled in a tracking position not from from the front, maintained that position down the backstretch, was sent along late on the backstretch under confident handling, took command before the five-sixteenths marker, opened up a big lead before the quarter pole under a drive then won clear while being geared down in the final sixteenth. IF I WERE YOU was unhurried from the start, went three wide on the first turn racing near the back, made a steady advance up the backstretch to be up close with the main pack heading into the far turn, dropped to the rail midway on the turn, then finished up well to gain second while never a threat to the winner. ELECTIONEERING raced near the back of the pack early, went about seven-wide into the stretch, and was unable to threaten. JACE IS NO JOKE hustled to the front from the break, was able to dictate moderate fractions through the first half, could not go on with WORK HARD when that one kicked on after passing the three-furlong pole, then was outfinished in the stretch. WINE EMPIRE settled in mid-pack, advanced under a ride on the far turn, then flattened out in the stretch. DUKE OF DOOLY pressed the early pace two-wide, then weakened approaching the quarter pole. BULLRING BULLY tracked close up down the backstretch, came under a ride approaching the seven-sixteenths marker, but did not respond. JOSH was devoid of early speed, fell far behind the rest before the halfway point, then was able to pass a few rivals in the late stages. SIDNEY'S BID caught four-wide on the first turn, continued to race wide down the backstretch, came under a ride with three furlongs to go, but lacked a finishing kick. REGGAE MAN got bumped on both sides after the start, then raced mid-pack along the rail through the early stages, then weakened on the far turn and was not a factor late. KNOCKOUT GUY got bumped by BULLRING BULLY and took up at the start, dropped far behind while not traveling well from the start, was pulled up on the backstretch, vetted, and walked off.
