Chart notes
SOUPER TUSCAN was off a step slow but hustled to be four wide in the early pace contest, backed off a bit heading into the turn, then moved up near the quarter pole to bid for the lead three-wide, had a little trouble changing leads in upper stretch but pulled clear once straightened out and won by a comfortable margin in the end. CANUTO backed off the early pace to settle in a stalking position towards the inside, made an inside bid into the stretch, was no match for the winner, but finished up well to be a clear second. EASTBOSTONBENNY rushed up to take the lead after breaking slowly, had ALTOBELLI pressing the issue to the outside, into the turn, then was confronted by SOUPER TUSCAN to the outside and CANTU on the inside into the lane, fought on to mid-stretch but tired from earlier efforts and yielded. BOAT SONG outpaced a bit in the early stages, raced widest of all down the backstretch, launched a three-wide bid on the turn, was outkicked for a minor award but finished with some interest to improve. COLD AS HELL vied three-wide in the early pace scramble, made a bid for the lead approaching the quarter pole, but flattened in upper stretch and was unable to threaten late. GROUCH was briefly part of the early pace battle after a level start, but started to lose ground near the half-mile pole and was outrun the rest of the way. BOURBON AFICIONADO was outrun from the start and never involved. ALTOBELLI hustled from the start, pressed the pace to the outside of EASTBOSTONBENNY to the turn, then took up slightly approaching the quarter pole, lost momentum, and could not recover.
