Chart notes
BIAGODDESS settled in a stalking position behind ZEE through the early stages, moved up through the turn to put some pressure on that rival, then pulled even near the quarter pole, pulled clear of the rest in a spirited stretch battle, then edged ahead with about a sixteenth to go. ZEE had good speed from the break and went a length clear early, picked up some pressure from BIAGODDESS late on the turn, then dueled that rival through the stretch, gave way grudingly inside the sixteenth pole but finished a mile clear of the next horse. LAST CANDY chased in mid-pack, was no match for the top pair in the stretch, but was kept to task and won the race for third despite racing greenly in the stretch. JULBA tracked four-wide and was never a threat. CULTURE SHOCK got off to an awkward start, moved up the rail to be close up heading into the turn, was under a hard ride approaching the quarter pole, then weakened in the stretch. MIDNIGHT MS was close up for a quarter mile after a level start, lost focus on the turn, dropped far back, and was not persevered with when hopelessly behind.
