Chart notes
ESCOVEDO sprinted to a big early lead, maintained the margin through the turn, then went unchallenged through the stretch to win big under a steady hand ride. ENTICING OPTION steadied at the start, was being coaxed along down the backstretch and through the turn, was never getting to the winner, but outfinished the rest to gain second. D' ARGONAUT chased mid-pack three-wide, ran on some through the stretch, and just missed the place. WAHIDA OF MARDAN tracked pace from between horses in the chasing group, pulled clear to go after ESCOVEDO on the lead midway through the turn, was in clear second position turning for home, got short in mid-stretch and was passed up for a minor award. WW BEST OF TIMES raced four-wide down the backstretch, continued that path through the turn, and was mildly gaining in the late stages. ATRAXA hustled from the gate, chased the lone pacesetter under a drive, then weakened in the stretch and lacked a finish. VISIONS N DREAMS had no early speed despite the coaxing from the rider, was distant last early, kept to the inside but unable to muster a late bid. ULALUME broke well but outrun early, had only one rival beaten going into the turn, lost ground, then was unable to make any impact late.
