Chart notes
CROWN THE BUCKEYE broke inward and mutually bumped with GLOBAL EVENT at the start, went five-wide into the first turn, then moved up towards the front on the backstretch run, bid for the lead approaching the three-furlong pole, met some resistance but took command in upper stretch and held clear to the finish. WATER INTO WINE was first into the clubhouse turn, went a length clear turning onto the backstretch, responded when challenged by CROWN THE BUCKEYE approaching the three-furlong pole, but could not go on with that one late, but kept trying and finished a mile clear of the next horse. GLOBAL EVENT broke out and bumped with CROWN THE BUCKEYE at the start, settled four-wide close up after a clean break, became boxed in late on the backstretch run, tipped out four-wide into the clear late on the far turn, lugged in through upper stretch, then managed to outfinish MARK MY WORDS for the third spot. MARK MY WORDS came away well and secured the rail on the first turn, tracked close up to the far turn, then was unable to quicken with the top pair on the turn, kept to task but was outfinished for the minor award but well clear of the next finisher. TOM'S AVATAR broke a little off-balance, settled two-deep just behind the pacesetter through the first half, chased the top pair into the stretch, and flattened out. NO MORE CENTS tracked in mid-pack along the rail and lacked a finish. LUCKY FOR LIFE veered in at the start, then was held up near the back on the first turn, had to be ridden to keep up leaving the half, chased the main pack under a stiff drive, failed to change leads, and lacked the needed response. STRATEGIC PROFILE void of early speed, was the distant trailer to the far turn, then passed tired foes in the stretch. SOUND CITY raced mid-pack but wide for the first half, then lacked a late bid. COWGIRLSLUVME was away well, was a bit keen and held up in traffic through the first turn, settled in mid-pack down the backstretch, then struggled to keep pace late. JAC'S DOE MAKER missed the break, then took up when LUCKY FOR LIFE came over after the break, moved up while racing wide down the backstretch to be within striking distance of the leaders into the far turn, then weakened near the quarter pole and had nothing left for the stretch run.
