Chart notes
SUPERWOLF took command early, opened up a bit on the turn, responded when set down at the head of the stretch, and held off a game BOOTS MALONE while under strong handling and intermittent urging. BOOTS MALONE away well, pressed the pace from the rail, was unable to quicken with SUPERWOLF on the turn, but kept up the chase through the stretch in a game effort, but had to settle for the place. FORTISSIMO broke best, then ceded the front to SUPERWOLF but maintained a stalking position, became hard-pressed to keep up with that rival late on the turn, chased to the wire in vain but managed to hold third. EMPIRE'S FIRE got a level break, then settled mid-pack three-wide down the backstretch, went into a drive with three furlongs to run, then bid four-wide into the stretch but went a bit flat in the final furlong. HENRY MAC raced in mid-pack on the inside through the early stages, kept on well but was outfinished. STAGE NAME hopped in the air at the start, spotted the field a head start, chased from far back, and was unable to threaten. GENERAL MATHIS came away from the gate awkwardly, settled near the back, chased three-wide through the turn, and was unable to mount a late bid.
