ED'S REWARD was hustled to the front, then dueled outside of PATRIACHAL through solid fractions to the far turn, put a head in front under a drive at the top of the stretch, but picked up a new challenger in K KID on the outside and a resurgent PATRIACHAL on the inside, kept to task under a strong hand ride, put away the latter name rival a furlong out but could not shake free of the former until getting a nose in front in the final strides. PATRIARCHAL dueled inside of ED'S REWARD from the start, had that rival be a constant shadow to the far turn, then both threw down the gauntlet in the stretch, neither giving in, but came up short at the wire in game effort. K KID tracked the dueling leaders to the far turn, then bid three-wide at the top of the stretch, loomed a big chance in the final furlong but weakened a bit in the final yards while finishing well clear of the next horse. RAMSEY raced close up to the stretch, then was outfinished. THAT'S THE WAY mutually bumped with STRAGEGEST at the start, then was the distant trailer to the stretch, then rallied late to improve while never a serious threat. LAW OF THE JUNGLE tracked the pacesetters two-deep to the far turn, struggled to keep up late on the turn under a ride, and was outrun in the late stages. SIGHT UNSEEN broke out at the start, got caught five-wide into the first turn, tried to launch a bid on the far turn but did not respond, and faltered in the late while racing on the wrong lead. STRATEGIST broke out and bumped with THAT'S THE WAY, then tracked well behind the pace for a half-mile, then dropped to last and was uninvolved late.
