Chart notes
CHARLESTON raced three-wide into the clubhouse turn, then settled inside just behind the pacesetters, bided time to the far turn, then became boxed in late on the far turn, split horses at the top of the stretch, then finished strong under steady handling and prevailed in a cavalry charge to the finish line. SPELLCAST went to the front with the rider attempting to temper the pace, was able to quicken when challenged by CHARLESTON leaving the three-furlong pole, finished well in the sprint to the wire, but came up short. POWERFUL went four-wide on the first turn, settled well off the pace, ranged up four-wide towards the leader late on the turn, and finished well in the scramble to the finish. SECRET TROUBLE was outrun early and trailed far back, started a forward move on the far turn, came five-wide at the top of the stretch to join the charge to the finish, but came up short. TATANKA got away well, moved up on the first turn to press SPELLCAST on the lead as they turned down the backstretch, launched a bid near the five-sixteenths marker, and took the lead into the stretch, but was outkicked in the final yards.
