Chart notes
LITTLE VAQUERO tracked in the middle of the pack two-wide, launched a bid from the five-sixteenths marker, then came five-wide into the stretch, lugged in at the top of the stretch, then powered clear when straightened out and went unchallenged to the wire. STAY THIRSTY AMIGO suffered an equipment failure early, was slow to be well off the leaders near the rear of the field, commenced a steady, long drive on the turn, and finished with a late gain four-wide to be up for the show. TIME THE AVENGER raced mid-pack early, then advanced through the turn to gain contention, was stuck behind horses leaving the quarter pole, then split horses just past the three-sixteenths marker, had every chance in mid-stretch but was outfinished. THANKS FRANK showed good speed from the start, pressed the pace three-wide down the backstretch, then went after the leader approaching the quarter pole, loomed a big threat in upper stretch, but weakened a bit in deep stretch. CAPTURE MI lacked any speed and was outrun from the start, kept to task late, and passed a couple of tired rivals in the stretch. MARKHAMIAN hustled to the front, chased STELLARS IN CHARGE under a drive, weakened late on the turn, and had little to offer in the stretch. STELLARS IN CHARGE broke on top and made the lead without really being asked, got some pressure early from MARKHAMIAN on the inside, put that one away midway on the turn, then was confronted by a host of challengers at the top of the lane and gave way in upper stretch. THERE WAS A STEWARDS INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN. AFTER A REVIEW, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN.
