Chart notes
PLATINUM DIVA was always prominent on the inside, launched a bid from the quarter pole, swung four-wide into the stretch, finished well but was not getting to ISLAND JIVE in the final yards, surged in the last jumps to get up in time. ISLAND JIVE settled mid-pack, became boxed in heading into the far turn, then got a clear path along the rail into the stretch, finished strong, held off all challengers, and had the lead through deep stretch, but came up short to a determined rival on the outside. DONTMESSWITHTESS was not asked for speed from the start, was held up at the back early, went three-wide down the backstretch, advanced to the far turn to gain contention, swung five-wide into the stretch, losing some ground in the process, then finished up well to get into third but was too late to threaten the top pair. DERRYGOOLIN broke well but ceded the front end, stalked between horses to the far turn, then bid for the lead after passing the three-furlong pole, hit the front at the top of the stretch but was overhauled by PLATINUM DIVA, then was outkicked in the stretch to miss out on the minor award. ALICESHOUSEOFHEART was the distant trailer early, rallied past tired ones in the stretch. POKER ALICE veered out at the start but made the front late on the first turn, led the way to the stretch, then weakened. ROLLIN BLACKOUT settled three-wide, then lacked a rally.
