Chart notes
TAKE DICTATION broke outward at the start, took command after passing the seven-sixteenths marker, opened a clear lead through the turn, then repelled all challengers in the late stages, holding sway under steady handling and intermittent urging. SON OF A G Q got off to an awkward start and was last away, started to run on a bit from the three-furlong pole under steady handling, tipped out to the three path in the stretch and rallied into second. KETTLE COALMINE was in a little tight between horses after the break, but raced close up in the early running, went after TAKE DICTATION on the lead from the five-sixteenths marker, had aim on that one in upper stretch, but could not find the winning late kick and was outfinished for the place. SKIPTHEGUILTTRIP made the lead just past the five-furlong pole, but was overtaken before the turn, kept on evenly late, but lacked a late kick. LUCKY KATER chased the main pack through the early stages, kept to the inside, but lacked a finish. STRIKING LAD was void of early speed and lacked a rally. CATCHING MY WIND broke on top, vied four-wide initially, lost some ground going into the turn, then continued wide through the turn and stopped in the stretch.
