Chart notes
SURFSIDE MOON tracked the early pace three deep, went up and stalked the pacesetter into the backstretch, loomed into the far turn, vied for the lead nearing the quarter marker then took command to upper stretch, kicked clear to the furlong pole, kept to task to the final sixteenth and drew off while in hand in deep stretch. RENEWING VOWS sent for the early lead, assumed command and showed the way to the first turn, set decent fractions to the half-mile marker, came under pressure into the far turn then was overtaken at the quarter pole, chased SURFSIDE MOON into the stretch, was no match late for the winner and kept on to be best of the rest. MCCRAKENS GHOST tracked the early pace while saving ground, was well placed to the backstretch run, saved all of the ground to the far turn, could not keep pace with the top pair into the stretch and was clear in the end for third. HALL OF JAZZ settled outside of rivals into the first turn, tracked the decent pace three wide along the backstretch, ran in pursuit to the quarter pole, could not find the needed response into the stretch and did not threaten late. IRA THE ICON settled two wide and between foes into the first turn, tracked the decent pace along the backstretch run, lost position into the far turn and did not factor in the stretch drive.
