BREEZY MONEY was up on the early pace but got caught five-wide on the first turn, took over the lead passing the six-furlong pole, and went clear down the backstretch, maintained the margin through the far turn, then responded well when set down in the stretch and drew away under steady handling. MIDNIGHT CHANNEL was unable to contest the early pace despite the early efforts of the rider, settled near the back of the pack through the early stages, started a forward move midway down the backstretch run, came under a ride passing the three-furlong pole, took the inside path into the stretch and finished up best of the rest to gain the place, while no threat to the winner. AULD LANGE SYNE hopped in the air at the start and was the distant trailer to the far turn, rallied about seven-wide into the stretch, and finished up well to gain third. ROAD TO STARDOM raced three-to-four wide throughout, was mildly gaining late, but was outkicked for a minor award. FIREWATER JAKE was in a bit tight a few strides from the gate, then was allowed to settle after the break, advanced late in the run down the backstretch to be third going into the far turn, launched a bid to go after BREEZY MONEY on the lead with three furlongs to run, chased that rival into the stretch but was no match, and weakened in the late stages. GUNS N' ROJAS pressed the pace three-wide on the first turn, settled in a tracking position down the backstretch, then struggled to keep up in the late stages. CAMP DAVID tracked in mid-pack, then was unable to produce a rally. BOLDNESS was hustled to the lead into the first turn, then ceded the front end to BREEZY MONEY as the field headed down the backstretch, stalked that rival to the far turn, then did not respond when asked to go on from the three-furlong pole, was later reported to have bled. BROADWAY SKY was roused from the break to get forward position, settled inside behind the leaders, started to lose ground after passing the half-mile pole and steadily faded. MY TWO AUNT JOANS settled near the back, then was done before the stretch, eased to the wire, and walked off.
