Chart notes
EMBRACEABLE YOU bumped at the start, vied inside a pair of rivals through the early stages, gained the advantage approaching the quarter pole, drew clear in the stretch, and held off a late bid from SCREAMING VIRGINIA to prevail. SCREAMING VIRGINIA settled at the back of the pack early but not far behind, advanced inside through the turn, finished well and was closing the gap on the leader but came up short at the wire. BLUEBIRD CAFE tracked the leading trio close up along the rail, then took a three-wide path to bid into the stretch, could not go on with the top two, but moved up in third while drifting out through the stretch run. VALLEY ECHO pressed the early pace three-wide down the backstretch, weakened under a drive leaving the quarter pole, and was outfinished in the stretch. BETTY RYANO broke in, bumped the inside rival at the break, was briefly up close to the leaders, dropped to last on the turn, tried to come back on but was unable to threaten. BURNIN AT MIDNIGHT broke well, contested the early pace from between horses, dropped out passing the three-eighths pole, and had nothing left for the stretch run.
