Chart notes
BIG A'S LITTLE ONE tracked the leaders along the rail in the second flight, tipped out three wide into the stretch, and produced a strong rally to collar HAZAEL on the lead with a sixteenth to run and drew away in the final yards. HAZAEL dueled outside of JAZZ TIDE initially, then backed off a bit through the turn, made a bid for the lead approaching the quarter pole, met no resistance from that rival, went clear in upper stretch then could not hold off the late charge of the winner while finishing well clear of the next horse. GOLDEN MIDNIGHT was unable to contest the early pace despite the efforts of the rider, raced with the back pair to the turn, then was under a drive and last past the three-furlong pole, saved ground through the turn, then was kept to task through the stretch, was never getting to the top two but wn the race for third. CIRCLE OF FIRE was outpaced and last of the sextet down the backstretch, started to run on with three furlongs to run, had trouble changing leads in the early part of the stretch run, and was outnodded for the minor award. BRASCIA'S ART tracked two-wide with the second pair, did not respond when asked to go on late on the turn, and was not a factor in the late stages. JAZZ TIDE dueled inside of HAZAEL early, put a head in front going into the turn, then was overtaken by that rival approaching the quarter pole, then tired in the stretch.
