Chart notes
SPAN OF CONTROL unhurried early to be the trailer, closed the gap on the turn saving ground along the fence, cut the corner turning for home rallying up the fence, steadied at the three-sixteenths pole when the pacesetter drifted in, took up and angled four wide to the clear and surged late to be up in time. STRAIGHTOUTADUTTON broke well, opened a clear lead early, responded when engaged nearing the quarter pole while racing in the three path, drifted in toward the rail in upper stretch impeding the winner and dug-in gamely only to be nailed on the wire. SMOKIN' HOT chased the pacesetter through the turn, rallied to prominnce midway down the lane and was unable to sustain the rally. RIDING A DREAM pressed the pace to the top of the lane and weakened in the stretch.
