Chart notes
TESS OF HEMET grabbed the lead from inside, took pressure from RUSTY BOY then cleared, showed the way along the rail then two wide into the stretch, remained unchallenged into the final furlong, grew a bit weary late but was able to hold well. COSMIC TRAIL tracked off the rail, moved into the two path, angled four wide around the bend, closed in on the leader with a furlong remaining but lacked the needed final kick. WICKED SPUD shifted out at the start, traveled widest at the back early on, rounded the bend four then five wide and ran on for third. RUSTY BOY was closest in pursuit early, applied pressure at the half-mile pole, lost touch early on the turn, chased two then three wide to the stretch, stayed in range to the eighth pole, then weakened in deep stretch. GOLD PROOF showed early foot but got put in tight early then lacked room between the top pair, chased along the inside into and around the bend and weakened in the drive. HARRISBURGER got crowded shortly after the start, traveled three wide into the turn, moved to the two path then angled back out late on the bend and weakened in the lane.
