Chart notes
AVERY'S GEM was hustled from the gate and vied three wide, steadied near the seven-sixteenths pole and lost position, then rallied again approaching the three-eighths, made a sustained three-wide bid, took command at the eighth pole and prevailed over a stubborn inside rival. PETITFOR broke with good speed and contested the pace along the rail, took over approaching the quarter pole, remained under pressure in the stretch and gave way late. BRITERDAYZAHEAD contested the early pace, backed off near the three-eighths pole, then re-rallied in the final stages to secure the minor award. BARON OF THE NILE was outpaced through the early stages, saved ground to the stretch, loomed a mild threat late, but was outfinished. DRILLING REPORT dropped back to last after a level start, came out five wide for the stretch run, was put to the crop, but lacked the needed response. BOURBON BOSS pressed the pace to the stretch, then stopped.
