VERONICAFORTHEWIN got away well but was soon outsprinted for the lead, pressed the new leader up the backstretch into the turn, struck a narrow lead past the quarter pole, dueled through the lane exchanging light bumps late and a harder one right at the wire, prevailed. SPICY CANTALOUPE soon led, set a pressured pace inside, was headed past the quarter pole and asked for more, dueled through the stretch exchanging minor bumps late and a stronger one at the wire, was outfinished. SHO DOMINA was close in the early going, chased from outside, was no match for the top pair. GIO LINH chased from inside, shifted out early on the turn, failed to menace. DAISY MAE ATTACK was outsprinted bringing up the rear, came out in upper stretch, was never near enough to threaten. FOLLOWING AN OBJECTION BY THE RIDER OF SPICY CANTALOUPE AGAINST VERONICAFORTHEWIN ALLEGING INTERFERENCE NO ACTION WAS TAKEN. DUE TO TIMER MALFUNCTION FIVE-FURLONG TIME OMITTED.
