Chart notes
PLAGNE CHAMPAGNE tracked the leaders from four wide to the far turn, rallied on the bend closing the gap, engaged the pacesetter midway down the lane, took command as that one weakened and held the hard charging closer safe in deep stretch. NEW LIFE rated in mid-pack along the fence, was boxed-in on the final bend, continued to lack racing room in upper stretch, angled five wide to the clear nearing the eighth pole and surged belatedly to be gaining late. MONEY TRAIL stalked the pace to be well placed turning for home and lacked a closing kick finishing evenly to take the show. MORE APPLAUSE set the pace under steady pressure, responded wilingly to hold the lead to mid-stretch and weakened in the final furlong. STARSHIP ELATION trailed turning for home and passed weaker in the lane failing to menace. NASHVILLE SLEW pressed the pace to the head of the lane and gave way. ARTISTE was not a factor.
