Chart notes
EL ALACRAN had a slim advantage on the outside in the beginning, cleared away coming into the turn, was nursed along around the bend, had company bearing down outside at the quarter pole, switched leads find another gear opening up once again by mid-stretch and comfortably cruised in at the finish line. RED WEAVER had the rail position sitting in midfield, took the short way around in the early part of the turn, shifted out off the front pair up top three wide at the quarter pole, angled to the four path in the hunt straightening out for the drive, could not get to the winner late but did show grit closing in a few jumps before the finish line to best the rest for the runners up share. ARABIAN PRINCE stumbled on the break, was allowed to settle into stride outside trailing the group down the back straight, lagged behind the pack on the turn, scraped paint starting to gather speed taking the final corner and had a good late charge inside horses in the last eighth of amile just missing the nod at the wire for the second-place share. NAPA SPIRIT (IRE) prompted the pace inside early on, took back off the pacesetter at the seven sixteenths pole, moved outwards at the three eighths marker closing in around the oval to re-engaged the inside leader at the quarter pole, threatened briefly three wide at the top of the stretch but was no match for the winner unable to keep with a sixteenth remaining and faded in deep stretch between runners losing a couple of positions late. ONE TRUE GENTLEMAN had one rival beaten along the backside, advanced mildly three wide outside runners in the turn running, was pushed out four wide at the quarter pole, began to shorten stride in the five path while staying on the incorrect lead in upper stretch and wilted by the furlong marker. PRIMA bobbled on the first jump out of the gate, recovered to have a good spot on the outside in the three-path watching the lead duo at the half, was roused two wide between horses at the three eighths pole but was retreating through the turn and emptied out in the three path at the head of the lane.
