Chart notes

BIG DADDY HANK allowed to settle early, gained two wide at the quarter marker, angled out for the stretch drive then rallied to take command nearing the furlong grounds, drove clear to the final sixteenth and was ridden out to the wire. DYNAMIC GIFT broke alertly and took early command, set his own pace to the turn, came under pressure nearing the quarter marker, led off of the rail into upper stretch, overtaken by the winner at the furlong pole, couldn't match strides with the winner into the final sixteenth and bested the rest. SMOOTH WHISKEY tracked the early pace from the second flight, chased three wide nearing the quarter marker, caught a bit in tight to upper stretch, couldn't keep pace with the top pair into the final furlong, stayed on late and was a clear third. MONEY MAGIC asked to rate off of the early pace, tracked from the second flight and between rivals heading to the turn, gained ground and pressed the pace nearing the quarter marker, got caught in tight behind the drifting pacesetter into upper stretch, angled inside heading to the furlong pole, lacked the needed response to the final sixteenth and weakened. BLACK RIVER squeezed at the start and trailed early, swung out to upper stretch then lacked a late response. BUCKEYE MIKE tracked the early pace from the inside, saved ground into the turn, lacked a response to upper stretch then faded in the drive.
