Chart notes
TAVRIA broke on top but was rubbed out by IRACEBETH going into the first turn, stalked that runner two wide going up the backstretch until reclaiming command at the three-eighths, was nudged along through the turn before entering a drive at the three-sixteenths, drifted out into the four path int he upper stretch but kept on to pull away in the final furlong. DIAMONDINTHESAND was rated three wide through the first turn, ranged up to stalk the pace midway up the backstretch, began asking at the five-sixteenths and found a prominent position at the top of the lane, flopped leads down the stretch unable to close in on the leader. LERETHA hopped leaving the gate, trailed the pack two wide in the early stages, passed retreating foe nearing the half-mile marker, came under a ride through the turn but lacked a closing bid in the later stages. IRACEBETH hesitated at the start, rushed up along the inside and brushed out TAVRIA going into the first turn to commandeer the lead, continued up the backstretch under a tight rein until relinquishing command at the three-eighths, received some shoulder taps and light urging through the turn and upper stretch but was already done. FORGET TOMORROW settled off the pace along the inside, began retreating near the half-mile pole and shifted four wide through the far turn, never posed a threat.
